We could be playing our second game of the Christmas season tomorrow when Southport are due to play at Aggborough but it's in doubt due to the condition of the pitch after the Boxing Day game between Worcester City and Hednesford was abandoned after seventy five minutes due to a waterlogged pitch.

With City losing 3-0, and almost certain to lose their unbeaten home run that had been going since last April, the referee decided enough was enough and called the game off.  We have now got to hope that the pitch has been repaired in time for the 9:00am inspection due tomorrow morning but it seems that although today has stayed quite dry and with a drying wind that there will be a frost tonight giving us no chance of the game being on.

Our own Boxing day fixture was played at Forest Green yesterday and we came back home with a magical three points in the bag thanks to three well taken goals with two of those coming from Aman Verma.  Twice we came from behind in the first half but in the second half we stepped up a gear and Verma put the icing on the Christmas cake with a well taken goal minutes from the end.

We were without Josh Gowling for the game and that remains the case for tomorrow.  Jordan Tunnicliffe stepped up to the oche and did very well, if a little nervous at first.  Callum Gittings seemed a bit out of sorts and was withdrawn at half time.  He could have been suffering with a bit of a bug so may be missing tomorrow too.

Southport lost 1-0 at home to Wrexham yesterday and will be hoping to get something from tomorrows game.  They'll be without Scott Kay after he picked up a straight red card in the FA Trophy game, also against Wrexham, the previous week.  Joe Connor will be out with a hamstring injury.

Hopefully if the game is on we'll be another three points better off but already, at the time of writing, Alfreton v Dartford has been called off and there are also doubts about games at Halifax and Wrexham with both grounds covered in snow.

Keep an eye out for news tomorrow morning then.
