The Harriers are playing a team with a slightly better record than themselves this weekend when we travel down to the Devon Riviera to take on Torquay Utd at Plainmoor.  On Tuesday evening the Gulls got thrashed out of sight by Braintree by five goals to their one and the home fans have now made their feelings known that the manager, Chris Hargreaves, must leave if they hope to get their season back on track.  They, like us, have no hope of reaching the play-offs and very little chance of relegation either so it's just to stop the embarrassment basically.

Torquay came down from the Football League this season after getting promoted back there in 2009.  The club hold dear memories for all Harriers fans because they were the first team we played in the League following our promotion under Jan Molby in 2000 and the win was an even bigger bonus.  Since that day Torquay have found themselves promoted to League One then back down to ultimate relegation to the Conference for the first time in 2005.

They have three known long term injuries in the squad with Angus MacDonald being the most recent after he sprained an ankle at Nuneaton a week ago while defenders Thomas Cruise and Dale Tonge have both been out with knee injuries for longer.

We'll be without Jordan Tunnicliffe and Dominic Knowles after they both departed the club this week.  Tunnicliffe has joined Hednesford Town on loan until the end of the season while Knowles was re-called from his loan with us by Burton Albion yesterday.  We also have two injuries to consider with Jack Byrne out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury while Craig Reid picked up an injury against Eastleigh a couple of weeks ago and could miss the game.

Each club has a former player in their team with the Harriers Kevin Nicholson having had a long career with the Gulls covering over three hundred games and our hosts having James McQuilkin in their side.  Quilks came to us on loan from Walsall in January 2012 but left them at the end of the 2014 season whereupon he spent some time out of the game until he signed for Torquay on a non contract basis in November last year.  He has now signed until the end of this season.

It was Nicholson who scored the second goal for us earlier in the season when we beat them 2-1 at Aggborough.  His goal against his previous employers coming from a trademark Nicho free kick.  We'll be wanting him to repeat that goal tomorrow.

With the Harriers now firmly entrenched at the foot of the form table we desperately need a win tomorrow to get out of this hole that we seem to have fallen headlong into.  Also it's our penultimate chance of a first double for the season with our last chance coming at Welling in a few weeks time.  To go all season without a double win would be unforgivable.
