Jordan Jones It looks like the excitement, euphoria and hope that we had of escaping relegation a few weeks ago is now evaporating rapidly.  Those three wins in a row against Boreham, Eastleigh and Macclesfield are now becoming a distant memory following defeats at Cheltenham and Wrexham with a pathetic draw at home to Chester squeezed in between.  Our rise to second from bottom has quickly turned to a return back to the very bottom once more and with Torquay having three games in hand our plight is still there for all to see.  By tomorrow that will be four games in hand due to their FA Trophy commitments.

We now have to get something more than a draw from tomorrows game at home to Bromley if we harbour any hopes of getting out of this mess.

This will be the South London sides first ever visit to Aggborough although we have played them twice before at their Hayes Lane ground in the FA Trophy four years ago and then in September last year following their promotion.  We lost both games with a 3-2 reversal in the league game after Jordan Jones (right) scored both our goals but a late rally by the Reds wasn't enough to claim a share of the points.

Bromley started the season on fire with striker Moses Emmanuel rattling the goals in to make him the leagues leading scorer but over the past few months their form has dipped along with the goals from Emmanuel.  Last Saturday they got their first win this year when they beat Woking at home with their last win at home coming against Barrow in October when they ran out 5-0 winners.  Their last win away from home was at Dover at the end of December when they won 3-2.

On the injury front they have Louis Dennis out following a knee operation.  They have been busy in the January window bringing players in on loan with winger Reise Allassani from Crystal Palace on a one month deal while earlier another winger, Rohdell Gordon, came in from Stevenage.  One player with them is Adam Cunnington, a former target signing of Gary Whild when he was our manager.

We just have the two long term injuries to Elton N'Gwatala and Adam Dawson.  Dawson was told by the club in the week that he will be free to leave at the end of the season and find a team back up North although it's doubtful he'll be fit to play for a while due to him waiting for another groin operation.

Following the defeat at Wrexham on Tuesday Colin Gordon has suggested that he might be dropping a few tired looking players and freshen things up a bit.  James McQuilkin looks to be in the frame for a return after he came on at halftime for a tiring Luke Maxwell and later Ben Whitfield and Harry White were taken off for supposedly the same reason.  Personally I think we'll go with the same starting selection as in recent weeks because we have far too much at stake to start tinkering with the squad now.

Hopefully by tomorrow evening we should be back to winning ways but with Torquays games in hand is it too late for us now?

Update: Adam Dawson has now left the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
