Zaine Francis-Angol I was really positive (for me) the other day when I knocked up a preview for our game against Boreham Wood and at first I thought it was the right thing to do with another improved first half display from the Harriers.  Not sparkling as in the first halves against Barrow and Welling, but good enough to hopefully carry on that way in the second half and get our long awaited first three points of the season but that hope was just plain stupid as we reverted to form and looked like relegation material once again.  And that's relegation to the Midlands Regional Alliance Premier Division along with the likes of Bestwood Miners Welfare and Rowsley 86.

Fool that I was.  I should have let rip.

So am I going to let rip now? No, I'm beginning to lose all hope of us ever getting a win this side of Christmas and I can't for the life of me see it coming at Macclesfield.

We play them tomorrow in front of the BT Sport cameras with a 12.30pm kick off and going by talk on social media there won't be all that many going as they're preferring to watch the game either at home or in the Final Whistle/Aggborough Suite.  That's where I'll be too and save myself £60 odd quid into the bargain.

Hopefully we'll have Gurjit Singh back for this game and then we might see a goal or two because, apart from the new guy Zaine Francis-Angol (right), we never looked like scoring on Tuesday evening.  We tried Tahvon Campbell up front alongside Reece Styche but it wasn't convincing even if he did have a shot legged away that should have been buried to put us two goals up for the first time this season.

We are rumoured to be bringing a striker in on loan sometime today with the talk being Ashley Hunter from Fleetwood Town.  He has only played bit parts so far but played in his first game of the season on Tuesday when he came on and scored against Shrewsbury in the Johnsons Paint Trophy.

We also bought in yet another young kid yesterday when 18yr old George Cater arrived.  He played for us during the close season and wasn't offered anything but now he's joined us until the end of the season but only to play for the reserves??  Bit pointless in our present state really.

Jordan Tunnicliffe should be back for us following his one game suspension while we have no real injuries to speak of apart from Singh.

Macclesfield have been on a better run of late after starting the season a bit iffely.  They won 3-0 at Guiseley in mid-week after a scoreless draw at home to Boreham last Saturday while before that they won 3-0 at Aldershot.  They did lose at home to Barrow two weeks ago though so there is hope for us yet.

They have a few injuries with Kristian Dennis, Paul Lewis, Theo Bailey-Jones and Neill Byrne all missing recently so they have bought in replacements in the shape of Lindon Meikle (York City) and Fisayo Adarabioyo (Crystal Palace) to add firepower to the team.

As I said I don't expect anything from this.  Sadly.

Latest: We've signed a winger, Jordan Murphy, on youth loan for a month.  He goes into the side to play tomorrow.
