A few weeks back we were on something that resembled the crest of a wave with three wins on the trot but that is now a distant memory while Torquay are now on their winning run and they too have won three games in a row to give themselves a bit of a mini revival. They were excused League duty last Saturday to get the FA Trophy out of the way after losing at Bognor Regis Town but bounced back in midweek to win 2-1 at Macclesfield. At the same time we were losing at Braintree in another game that we struggled to get a shot on target.
That wasn't helped by the loss of Harry White before the game when his loan spell ended abruptly just before kick off? and we played Evan Garnett up front by himself instead. Garnett has been likened to Gary Hay in some quarters and you can see some similarities.
We are so low on bodies in the camp now that we'll probably go with the same line-up again unless a new striker is bought in later today. Apart from the long term injury to Elton N'Gwatala we have no other problems and will just have to try our best.
Torquay, now managed by former Harrier Kevin Nicholson (right), have the one long term injury with Luke Young out all season with a cruciate ligament injury and he might make his comeback near the end of the season while they also have a doubt about Ifeanyi Allen after he was forced to miss the last game at Macclesfield with an injury. The did have a problem with Aman Verma, on loan from us, when it was found that he had a possible heart defect but that has since been unfounded and he's now been given the all clear although he may not play against us due to the terms of his loan deal.
There are also another two former Harriers down on the south coast with former loanee Andre Wright just back from injury and also Nathan Blissett who has signed for them following his release from Bristol Rovers in January. He's been banging in the goals for them, as has Wright, and no doubt they'll be eager to bang in a few against us. Oh, they also have Exodus Geohaghon for some strange reason.
If we were to win this game it would be a bit of a bonus but for some fans, more so than the relegation issues, the loss of a weekender would be disastrous so for their sakes we have to hope we can win and go on a run once more and that Torquay can also do the same but only after they have lost to us tomorrow.
