We had high hopes of getting a result yesterday, well the fans did, but the team had other ideas and failed to live up to the dream we had. Just as we looked to be getting somewhere two second half goals spoilt a mini good passage of play and we were hit on the sucker punch by a cracking goal from Keanu Marsh-Brown and a bullying goal from arch bully Jon Parkin. If only we had two such players we might get a point once in a while.
Again we'll be without Kelvin Langmead tomorrow with his bruised heel but surely he has to be back soon. Talking of missing players where the hell is Rob Taylor? We have yet to see him play a league game and we can only surmise that he is no longer at the club with the dearth of news coming from the club regarding the ex Tranmere midfielder. He would be ideal for us if we could hope to get something from the game.
As it is we have to go with senior players that don't seem to be up to the task demanded and some young players who aren't up to the skill levels needed. The exceptions to that are just three with Luke Maxwell, Andrew Fox and Tahvon Campbell performing well but bear in mind only one of those actually belongs to us.
Tranmere are also going through a poor run of form although admittedly theirs has only been for two games while ours has been for all games so far. They lost 2-1 at Altrincham on Saturday and that came a week after an embarrassing defeat at home to newly promoted Boreham Wood by a 2-0 scoreline.
They have a couple of players there at Prenton Park that we know well with Martin Riley being the main one. Our former centre half joined them following his release from Mansfield in the close season but has struggled to win the fans over yet. Another former Harriers is Nathan Blissett (left) who joined them on loan from Bristol Rovers last week after falling out of favour with the Bristol management since their promotion back into the league at the end of last season. The Jack Russell Terrier known as Jay Harris is also with them now after joining from Wrexham in the summer. We like Jay Harris!!!
Tranmere will be without Liam Hogan with a foot injury while James Norwood signed from Forest Green hasn't made an appearance since getting injured against Woking at the start of the season.
Again this is going to be another tough game in a run of tough games and I don't really expect us to get much joy from it but we can only hope.
