Dean Lyness They make you wait don't they on that there TV?

Hundreds of Harriers fans were watching BBC2 tonight to see who the mighty Kidderminster Harriers would be drawn against in the next round (1st proper) of this seasons FA Cup.  Most of us were hoping for a really big side like Sheffield Utd, Bolton or Coventry City but one by one they came and went.  The little table showing the remaining sides started to get ssmaller and smaller until finally the Harriers name appeared at the very bottom.  Is that what they think of us?

Then there were four.  Blackpool, Chesham Utd, Peterborough and ourselves so you just knew it was going to be a return to Peterborough and the scene of one of our most famous cup victories of all time.  No, they got Chesham so who was going to be the penultimate team and drawn at home.  We know now that it was us.

Struggling Blackpool are seventeenth in League 2 at the moment after dropping from the Premiership in 2011 after just one season, four seasons in the Championship and then straight through to whence they came last season.  With the club in turmoil and the fans boycotting the club in favour of AFC Fylde then this couldn't be a better time to crush the Seasiders.

We played them twice back in the day when we were in the football league.  Our first meeting was a televised home game in September where we lost 1-4 and a brace for Brett Ormerod then in March 2001 for the return game we lost 5-1 with Ormerod scoring again.  Thankfully they got promoted that season and our paths didn't cross again until this season when we played Fylde.

Ex Harrier Jamille Matt now plays for them after leaving Fleetwood but has only played eight times (possibly through injury) with his last game the 2-1 defeat at Accrington last Saturday.  No doubt he's looking forward to the game.  Dean Lyness (right) also plays for them after leaving Burton in the close season and also someone called Mark Yeates but not that one.

The game will be played over the weekend of November 5th with ours a possible televised game.  Let's just hope it won't be a damp squib but a rocket into the next round for us.
