Date: 24-05-17 gif Arthur Gnahoua. The first of the stars to go
Arthur Gnahoua Following such a great season it was obvious that we wouldn't be able to hang on to our star players and Arthur Gnahoua, who left the club today, was definitely one of those star players.

With nineteen goals during his sixty game stay at Aggborough he was always going to be much sought after and today he signed for League One side Shrewsbury Town following the expiry of his contract with us at the end of the just finished season.  A season in which he blossomed into a lethal partnership with Elton N'Gwatala.

The former Macclesfield and Stalybridge man signed for us back in January 2016 after failing to spark at either of those two clubs.  Even when Dave Hockaday first bought him in he didn't really tear any trees up but with the arrival of John Eustace as the Harriers manager he began to bang the goals in.

We've seen many memorable goals from Arthur - too many to mention - but probably his most important was the goal that gave us victory at Chorley in the play-offs a few weeks ago.  It's a shame that he couldn't repeat that a few days later at Aggborough when we made a shock exit to a late goal.  That goal marked the end of a comparatively barren spell for him with his previous goal to that coming in February against Stockport.

With Arthur going the question now is who will be next? Elton, Zaine Francis-Angol and Jordan Tunnicliffe are yet to sign the contracts offered and to lose all of those could be disastrous for the club and the fans.  It could explain the lack of our own signings so far with Eustace waiting to see who he has left to work with.  I'm sure that he'll be able to bring someone suitable in but it's telling that none of the three Frenchmen were his signings.

Anyway it's good luck to Arthur from all of us.  Just a shame that he's gone to the same club that nicked James Constable and Mickey Demetriou off us.
