Daniel Nti The Harriers might introduce yesterdays new signing Daniel Nti (left) to the crowd tomorrow when we take on Alfreton Town.  The former Worcester City forward (not sure if he's a winger or a frontman) handed his notice in at York City yesterday morning and signed for us a few hours later.  After signing for York at the end of last season he played regularly until the arrival of Gary Mills as the new manager there and hasn't featured since.  He has just finished a loan spell at Halifax but didn't impress them enough to keep him on.

On paper it seems a strange signing considering that we were supposed to be after an out and out striker and not a winger who would have to join the queue behind Sam Austin if he wants a game.

The game tomorrow comes on the back of yet another postponed game at Stalybridge - the third time now - on Tuesday evening.  If that game had gone ahead then we might have been able to get the away form monkey off our back but at least we can get three points at home instead now.  Not a foregone conclusion though because in the corresponding game back at Alfreton in September we played so badly in the first half that we went into the break 3-0 down and looking out of it.  It was an inspired substitution at the break when Liam Truslove came on for James McQuilkin that turned the game when he scored twice with a goal from Andre Brown sandwiched in between.

We mustn't be so complacent tomorrow and have a repeat of that game and also the game at home to Curzon a few weeks ago when we almost let a three goal lead slip.  We'll still be without Elton N'Gwatala tomorrow with his shoulder injury but have no other injuries.

Alfreton are down in seventeenth place this season with the occasional win to keep their heads above the water.  One of those came at home to fellow play-off hopefuls Halifax on Tuesday when they won 1-0 with a goal from leading scorer Craig Westcarr.  He's one we're going to have to be wary of as is their new loan signing Wes Atkinson from Notts County.

I'm taking us to win this game tomorrow mainly because we have to.  Something has to compensate for our poor away form.
