Following our blip at Salford we're also back on a winning streak of wins against Ebbsfleet and AFC Telford. Up until the Salford game we had also been on an eight game unbeaten run starting on the same day that Nuneatons run commenced.
We'll be without Jared Hodgkiss for this game again but this time it's not down to an injury but a loan deal that has seen him join up with Kevin Nicholson at his struggling Torquay Utd. He'll be teaming up with a couple more ex Harriers there with Aman Verma and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner and he's just missed out on renewing acquaintances with Nathan Blissett and Joe Ward after Bliss was transferred to Plymouth while Ward returned to West Brom after his loan came to an end.
On the injury front we now have just Sam Hornby missing but he is supposedly on his way back.
Nuneaton also have former Harriers in their side with Kelvin Langmead a regular at centre half while Exodus Geohaghon makes the odd appearance but mainly keeps the bench warm. They signed a former triallist of ours just before last Saturday when Greg Mills joined them from local rivals Tamworth and another triallist of ours, Ben O'Hanlon, is also there on loan from Wolves.
Wright dipped into the January sales at the start of the week too when he signed the former FGR defender Al Bangura. He'll be dreading playing us because he has been sent off twice in FGR games against us.
One player we sadly won't be seeing tomorrow is Reece Styche. He joined them on loan from Gateshead in November and had his loan extended in December until the end of the season but then he went and changed his mind and returned to the Heed to have his contract cancelled. Two days later he turned up at Tamworth. Talk about kicking you in the teeth.
Following other games played in the past week we have drifted back to nine points behind AFC Fylde again following their 2-0 win at home to Alfreton. We had gained three points on them on Saturday evening when they lost at Curzon and we won at home to Telford but at least we now have a game in hand over them and we should be able to keep the pressure on them tomorrow when we do the double over Nuneaton. Our second of the season.
