Before that though we have tomorrow evenings clash between fourth placed Harriers and their sixth placed opponents. Tamworth have been having one hell of a time in front of goal in recent weeks and their eighteen goal tally in the last six games makes our six goals look worrying. Thankfully it's our goals against record that stands better scrutiny than the Lambs with us letting in only three goals compared to their ten in the same time span.
They have one of the leagues leading scorers in Dan Newton with six goals to his name already including two at Curzon on Saturday when they beat the home side 5-1. That result was their third game of the season in which they have scored five times with the other two coming against Bradford PA and Alfreton.
Playing for them is our former defender Joe Clarke. He signed for them at the start of the season after spending the remainder of last season, on leaving us, at Brackley. Also there now is Ellis Deeney formerly of Worcester City and brother of the Watford hot shot Troy.
They would have been without Stephen Tomassen for this game following his dismissal in their 3-1 victory at Gloucester last Tuesday evening but that was overturned this evening so now he'll be playing. They have just two injuries to Louis Ezewele and Stephan Morley,.
We have no injuries either apart from the lingering one with Jared Hodgkiss. If he was available he probably would only make the bench anyway due to the good form of Tyrone Williams (left) and the solidity of our defence overall.
Our only worry is the lack of goals up at the other end with us only finding the net five times at home so far. Mani Dieseruvwe tries hard but hasn't got goals in him while Elton N'Gwatala runs out of road once he sets off with the ball at his feet. The only one that looks capable of scoring is Arthur Gnahoua but it shouldn't be down to him all of the time. We desperately need another, big, striker up front alongside Mani if we ever hope to score more than a single goal at home.
Maybe tomorrow that will all change and we'll find our scoring boots just as Tamworth have done. Whatever the scoreline and result this is a game that could run and run and run.
