Ross Atkins arrived at Aggborough on loan from Derby County as cover for Dean Coleman after he was admitted to hospital for surgery to his groin.  The young stopper has yet to make his debut for County but came close when he made the bench for the game against Coventry City in November 2009.  Atkins is a former England Youth international.

He has prevously spent time on loan (twice) at Southport and more recently at Burton Albion where he failed to make a single appearance.
