Gary joined as Jan Molbys assistant in August 1999.

He was formerly Manager at Barry Town taking them to the European Champions League where they lost against Dynamo Kiev.

After the fiasco surrounding Jans departure for Hull City, Gary eventually joined him there in his previous role as assistant manager.

During his time away from league football Gary joined Evesham Utd as coach.

With Jan coming back to the Harriers in the Autumn of 2003 Gary found himself back in his old role as assistant manager until leaving again on the eve of the 05-06 season.
