Michael Bowler spent the pre-season of 2008 at Aggborough and eventually signed a one year contract on the eve of the opening game of the season.

The former Stockport County youth team player made nineteen appearances for the Manchester club before signing for Northwich Victoria in the Spring of 2008.  He wasn't retained at the end of the season.

The Derbyshire born youngster was hoping to make his name at the Harriers but found that his face didn't quite fit after being made the scapegoat for an early season defeat at Mansfield Town.  He had supposedly given away a penalty but the offence occurred outside the box.

He rarely played again and was released from his contract in February 2009 from where he joined Stalybridge Celtic until the end of the season making fifteen appearances and scoring once for them.

In late August of the following season he joined New Mills AFC.  A club not far from his hometown of Glossop in Derbyshire.
