Simon was signed by Jan Molby on deadline day, March 25th 2004, on a month long loan deal that was then extended until the end of the season.

He was an ever present in the West Brom reserve side and came to Aggborough for match experience in his quest for first team football at The Hawthorns.

He returned to Aggborough at the beginning of the following season but was sold by West Brom to Mansfield for £50,000 (rising to £100,000 on appearances) in December 2004.

We also tried to sign him but he preferred to go to Mansfield.
