Ian Clarkson (4/12/1970) joined the club in November 1999 and became the club captain.

In his footballing career he has played for;

Birmingham City.
Stoke City.
Northampton Town.

Ian was released at the end of the 2002 season after spending his last few weeks at the club as assistant manager when Jan Molby left for Hull City.

He joined Conference side Nuneaton Borough then Forest Green and when he finally retired from football went into journalism with a local Sunday paper.
