Duane Courtney started his footballing career as a schoolboy with Derby County but then joined Birmingham City as a trainee.  After getting released from St Andrews he made his way to Telford Utd where he played in the same team as the Harriers assistant manager Neil Howarth.

After just one season at The Bucks Head he was transferred to Championship side Burnley where he was coached by the Harriers manager Mark Yates.  He failed to make a real breakthrough at Turf Moor and left the club to join the League of Wales side TNS.  He settled down there and made well over a hundred appearances for them in his three years with the club before leaving in May of this year.

The right sided fullback stepped into the boots of the departed Keith Lowe but after just one year and just under 50 appearances he left the club to join play-off finalists York City.
