John Danby
John Danby

Stoke-on-Trent born John joined the club in 2001 as an apprentice.

He was formerly on WBA's books and was born 20th September 1983.

He was promoted to the first team when Brendan Murphy left to join Solihull Borough and his big chance came when Stuart Brock fell out of favour towards the end of the 03/04 season.

He made a surprise debut in the 2-0 win at Scunthorpe in March of that season and went on to become the first choice keeper after that.

He retained that honour until a string of errors gave his understudy, Daniel Lewis, his big chance and never really regained his place in the team again eventually leaving the club at the end of the 05-06 season to join League 2 side Chester City.
