Ben was rewarded with a professional contract at the beginning of the 2001 season but was released at the end of the 2002 season and joined Chester City in the Conference.
At the end of the 03-04 season Chester were promoted back into the Football League and Ben will be meeting his old friends once more.
From Chester he then moved on to Shrewsbury Town and stayed there for three years to become a big favourite with the Shrews fans. In July 2009 he failed to agree to a new contract with them and joined Notts County.
