Callum Hassan, who's real name is Emmanuel Oluwaseun F. D. A. O. K. Hassan, signed for the Harriers on the same day that Dave Hockaday arrived as our new manager. Born in London he was adopted as a baby and moved to Hartlepool with his adopting mother. It was with them that he took up football joining the youth side before turning professional and making on substitute appearance for them.
He was loaned out to Harrogate and Whitby before being released in August 2008. He then joined a host of Northern clubs before leaving the game on the death of his mother and taking up boxing.
He returned to the game in August 2015 with a trial game for Portsmouth against Havant & Waterlooville in which he scored but wasn't taken on. He made his debut for us the day following his arrival at Aggborough in the 2-1 defeat at Macclesfield.
Incredibly he announced on Twitter, the day after our shocking exit from the FA Cup at Stourbridge, that he had left the club after appearing to be the scapegoat for the defeat. It was more than likely a money saving move by the board who would rather loan players in for free than actually pay for one.
