He signed him from the Coventry factory side, Marconi, from under the nose of Coventry City manager Gorden Strachan.
Matt is a tall, gangly youth, very much in the mould of the Harriers former striker Lee Hughes.
He was signed on a three year contract in July 2001 and made his debut when he came on as sub against York City in October 2001 when the Reds won 4-1.
Eventually he failed to make the grade and was transferred to Doc Martens side, Hinckley Utd for a fee of £5000.
