Mike Williams is your old fashioned type of one team player having played for Wrexham all the five years of his career until he was released by the club at the end of the 09-10 season. The fans of the Welsh side were sorry to see him leave the club but now he has a chance to build up a similar rapport at Aggborough.
In addition to his 128 games with Wrexham he has also appeared for his country eight times as an under 19, fifteen times at under 21 level and 1 game in the semi professional Welsh team. At only twenty four years of age he will have plenty more chances to increase his international appearances.
Mike left the Harriers after three seasons with us and joined Altrincham soon after but his career there was blighted by injury and he finally hung up his boots on medical advice when it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips. A reminder how short a career football can be for some players.
