Peter Wassall
Peter Wassall

Peter Wassall joined the Harriers on the advice of his brother Brendan after trying his luck at Wolves and Aston Villa before joining Atherstone Utd.

In his first season he played in midfield but the following season was moved into the front row where his talent shone through.
In one game against a West Midland Alliance team he scored all seven goals in a 7 - 0 rout and he went on to score a total of 448 goals for the Harriers throughout his career.

He joined Hereford Utd in 1971 but they couldn't appreciate his talent and he returned to Aggborough a year later.

His playing career was cruelly ended in 1974 when he had a serious back injury at Banbury.

Sadly Peter died of an heart attack.
