Great to see some investment in the first XI. Let's hope he lives up to the billing.
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

Of course he can live up to the billing, John will make sure of that. He's certainly got the best out of the ones he's got. Have faith my friends, it doesn't cost anything. COYR

Looks a decent acquisition and plenty of experience.
Stood out for Boston when they beat us at their place a season or two ago.
Just hope he stays around a while at his 13th club.

Welcome addition of an experienced player at this level, hopefully the other signings alluded to will also be of a similar grade.

Looks like JP has been able to implement a change in transfer policy now that CG has left the club and he will have more of a hands on say with regards who is signed.

Can only be a positive for the future

Good & informative article on the front page. That it's an eighteen month contract is encouraging.

With the amount of midfield players in Weeks, Butterfield, Prosser, Shenton, White, Williams & Hemmings, it's gonna be interesting to see what they do. Perhaps it's just an indication of Shenton's upcoming exit (who's been surprisingly peripheral).

If they're not changing system also perhaps may see Prosser demoted, or sent out on loan. He's looked out of his depth from day one, for me, & I think he'd benefit from a loan at one of the neighbours in the immediate divisions below. Another alternative is what it means for Jaiden White, who I hope continues to see regular game time.

Intrigued to see how everything pans out.

I thought Hemmings was a winger/forward?

Could this yield a change to a back 4?

Keeper
Austin Johnson Williams Davidson
Milan weeks
Ed
Chambers Peniket hemmings

I’d imagine chambers and hemmings would expect to play; and Peniket has clearly been brought in to be a focal point so must surely play a significant part. Could we see Ed in a central free role between the forwards and midfield with chambers and hemmings flanking Peniket? We know how hemmings likes to cut in which would create space for the overlap. Will be interesting to see how this plays out
A two man midfield?!?!

Really interested to see how this turns out. A conventional 4-3-3 would work, but suspect it may be closer to 4-4-2. Either way, different from what we've seen under Pembo so far.
I’ve realised I’ve missed Moyo. Swap Moyo for Johnson.

I think Ed would be asked to drop in but when going forward he can do what he pleases pretty much so some kind of 4-3-3. My worry with the 4-4-2 is who we potentially waste out wide when both chambers and hemmings are very attacking. Could be interesting though
I think you can make it work, but I have a theory that the demise of the 4-4-2 is much overrated and it's still a decent formation. So what do I know?

Think that formation would leave us wanting in the middle. Weeks and Butterfield are both decent at going forward and have that tendancy...
I actually agree with you re 4-4-2; there’s a place for it used correctly. I suppose things will become apparent with other signings. A defensive midfielder has never often blessed us with his registration have they, Croasdale excepted. Let’s look on the bright side. We’re talking about football again!
Very much on board with the call for 4-4-2. Don't think it's an issue if teams defend narrow in midfield, & a few teams still play it at this level, & above. Also, I wouldn't necessarily agree about Butterfield & Weeks. To my eye they've both been sitters under Pemberton. Excluding shots from 25 yards out when the opposition has been camped in, I haven't seen them approach the box in open play.

He is, yeah. I was including wide lads as midfielders :D.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Could be a change of system, could see him as another option up-top, or maybe even in the #10 role with license to roam.

He is interviewed on a podcast called "Grassroots Gossip" Feb 2019.

(This podcast covers Midlands non league & there are several ex Harriers featured, all around 60+ minutes in length.

Best I`ve listened to is Richard Thorndyke, Alvechurch Chairman & Ian Long Stourbridge Manager. Really interesting insights.)
