Torquay (including Klukowski. No thanks) Josh Gowling and Ryan Clarke on the transfer list

Re: Retained lists etc, etc
My guess is Josh Gowling's wages makes his retention a step too far for a club with financial problems, hence they are trying to get some cash in a transfer rather than having to pay off the rest of his contract.
Love to see him back at Harriers but it ain't going to happen - is it?
Unless of course there is a change in policy/style of play (three at the back) or O'Connor into midfield??
One things for sure our defence needs beefing up somehow!!
Gowling/Horsfall at the heart of defence ??

Re: Retained lists etc, etc
I've not seen enough of O'Connor to judge, and not seen Gowling play for a while. However if our situation changed over the summer in terms of defence (Horsfall must be a target for someone with his performances), and a deal could be done, then I imagine he'd be worth a look.
Vaughan and Gowling in the same side together, four years after last playing with each other. Must be a record, or rather notable, if it happened?

The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

Re: Retained lists etc, etc
Rule of thumb is the average club turns its squad over completely every three years; either by player release, other teams purchasing players, or retirement......
I expect 5-6 releases this term, with Ironside, Horsfall and Croasdale targets for other clubs.....??

Re: Retained lists etc, etc
From talking to a Torquay fan I don't think Gowling is the same kind of player who left Harriers years ago, he described him as too slow and can't defend for toffee.

Doesn't always work out for players at certain clubs. Guessing Torquay in a right mess. I'm sure Josh still good enough

Martin Riley gone. Spends more time on a beach than on the pitch anyway.
