Surely they had more than one turnstile open??!

They only have one iPad.
It was like a relay race, taking it from the east stand turnstiles to the south, north and main stand turnstiles, at least it kept someone fit.

Liverpool FC is apologising to fans for yesterday's problems with a new ticketing system. The Athletic Bilbao game was delayed for 30 mins after long queues built up. Fans' online passes failed to scan. The club aims to fix the issues before tonight's Osasuna game

EVEN THE PREM CLUBS HAVE TROUBLE WITH A NEW TICKETING SYSTEM.

Good for them. However 95% of clubs seem to get by without it being a massive issue. Why is it we always look for whoever else is getting it wrong too, rather than those who are getting it right? Think the issue is at scale. We're dealing with a few thousand turning up, not tens of thousands, and have only bought one iPad. That's an avoidable issue, especially for a system announced a year ago.

Nice 'alternative view' video. Reminds me of the ones BT Sport have done with the Champions League. Too many crowd shots for my liking and the generic overmusic doesn't do it, but a nice idea and could be developed well - especially for big games this season.

Good post by Sheff above though, measured and considered as always.

One ipad??? Wouldn't they have had at least 4?

My iPad post was made with my tongue firmly in my cheek.

I could have sworn I'd read similar on the night or elsewhere - but yes, mea culpa, happy to admit I've got it wrong, even if the club still didn't have the right infrastructure in place for it.

Let's face it, fans missing 10/15/20 mins of games as they're stuck outside is not ideal, regardless of how many iPads the club owns!

I'm sure the person who let me in was (wisely) only pretending with his I Pad. Hence people were admitted much faster and the queue was much shorter. Don't want to say which turnstile as I might get him/her into trouble but it was the right thing to do with those ridiculous waiting times some were enduring.

At least Liverpool apologised for their error.
