Kidderminster Foodbank

KHIST is now planning our regular collection for the Christmas Food Appeal :sleigh: and will be manning 2 collection points outside Aggborough Stadium on Sunday 5 December, prior to the Harriers’ Home FA Cup match with Halifax. We are giving early notice in the belief that we will, once again, be able to count on the generosity of the local community and Harriers fans to support this deserving charitable cause. :santa:

Kidderminster Food Bank re-opened earlier this year on 18 September at it’s new site in the Swan Centre. Last year it fed 4,424 to people in crisis However, there are real concerns for this winter, as this demand is likely to increase further with the setting in of colder weather. Our members, Harriers supporters and the local community have always been most supportive of our previous appeals. These have, year on year, exceeded expectations and helped to make the Festive Season that much more enjoyable for the less fortunate of our residents. Items to be donated, as well as usual food items, might include selection packs, chocolates, biscuits, mince pies, tins of ham, etc., :carols:

Living with Covid makes this year’s appeal so much more important and is not helped by the lack of Harriers home fixtures before Christmas. Our pre-Christmas collections in previous years have contributed over 400kgs of foodstuffs, and there have been additional, generous cash donations.

Donations can be made in the KHIST shop.

Great to see khist supporting our community once again. Hope our supporters get behind this cause. Fully deserves every support.

Very much agree - though it's a sad reflection on the times that Foodbanks are needed!

Please..... fellow Harriers fans, do your best to support this most worthy cause and bring something to contribute to the Foodbank Collection taking place outside the ground before Sunday's kick off. There are families out there in OUR community in great need at this time of year.

I’ll be contributing to the collection on Sunday, not just because I’m a khist member but because I know of several families who rely on the food bank and are really struggling. Hope they collect loads but I dare say most attending just simply won’t bother. Sad or what.

One final plea for fans to contribute to tomorrow’s Foodbank Appeal.
Please show your support for those families in our community who are in great need:.

With Aggborough now sold out today let’s hope this is a huge success.

If everyone reading this just brought a can of tinned soup or a packet of biscuits to donate it would make a huge difference to a lot of people, KHIST volunteers will be situated in between the north terrace turnstiles and east stand turnstiles and also by the turnstile on the main stand.

Come on the Red army - let’s get behind this today!

A special thank you to those who generously contributed (both goods and money) to our Food Bank Collection yesterday. I've been told that it was greatly received at the Swan Centre Location in town. :D
