Re: Austin and Baj gone to Notts County
No way in a million years we wouldn't play Sammy because Notts requested it (which wouldn't have happened, and I don't believe anything would've been agreed at that point anyway).
Who in their right mind would do that?
Sammy pretty much said that the main reason he's leaving us is because we didn't get promoted.

Best wishes to them all , Austin has been a great servant. However, we finished 4th and quite a distance behind the top teams and so needed to improve. Relacements in and more to come...and at least for once we are in a decent financial position.

It was a well known secret Sam was carrying an injury from Crimble onwards. Could have been said Achilles -or something else?No way in a million years we wouldn't play Sammy because Notts requested it (which wouldn't have happened, and I don't believe anything would've been agreed at that point anyway).
Who in their right mind would do that?
Like I said, I'm interested in the timeline between Notts County showing an interest and the end of the campaign.

Re: Austin and Baj gone to Notts County
A niche point, but the Notts County interviewer was excellent. Its easy to just push your club's line, but it felt that interview was as respectful to Harriers and Sammy's time here as it was looking forward to what he and Baj can do for them.
Personally I'll be keeping an eye on Notts County's fortunes next season and hoping Sammy and Baj go up with them.
Gutted they've both gone, but best of luck to them. Both superb players and did the club proud. Lots of work to do to replace them...

Agreed, very respectful and how it should be. Credit to them.Swansea Harrier wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 5:30 pmA niche point, but the Notts County interviewer was excellent. With Sammy gone, whos the longest serving Harriers player?
AMS if you count his two stints?

If you count AMS on that basis, then he was already the longest serving player.garthrockett wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 11:41 amWith Sammy gone, whos the longest serving Harriers player?

As Shane has said, it's Tom Palmer.

A sign of the times...........Martin Weir's testimonial seems an age ago.If you count AMS on that basis, then he was already the longest serving player.
As Shane has said, it's Tom Palmer.
