England have some great players, Good GK's, great midfielders & forwards, but OH the center of defence looks vulnerable, Maguire, Stones & Dier, all questionable - never been a fan of Dier or Stones and Maguire has lost his confidence completely - but Southgate has stuck with his favourites Maguire, Stones, Sterling & Phillips - all either not match fit or out of form - wouldn't be surprised if they all started against Iran!!

I must be honest and say I have zero expectations for England under Southgate other than to be bored to death with his style of frightened football. Never felt so underwhelmed at the prospect of a major football tournament - maybe it has something to do with the politics of it's venue and the associated corruption of its award. I just hope it all goes off peacefully. My suspicion is that England scrape through to the first knock out stage and go no further and Southgate falls on his sword and fresh blood gives England a transfusion of hope. Eddie Howe anyone?? As for forecasting the scores I will do just Group 'B'
GROUP B
England v Iran 1-0
USA v Wales 0-0
Wales v Iran 1-0
England v USA 1-1
Wales v England 0-0
Iran v USA 0-0
couldnt have put it better myself. under southgate we will win nothing.

I agree. Mind you I can only drink 0% beer now so it should fit the bill.

Saw the other day they were having to charge £12 a pint for it now they can't sell it at all.

Seen that a few times now. Might try it.

Got Doom Bar and Ghost Ship today. Tried a Sainsbury own brand one last week https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/session-ale-05-500ml. A couple of sips then cleaned the drain with it.

So come on. We all know you watched the game. Thoughts on Englands stroll in the park then?

Not sure I actually watched the game, the TV was on but I was doing other things, more like I was listening!! You can't be too critical of England when they score 6 but I agree with the manager questions have to asked about conceding two, from what I did see Iran were poor.Impressed with Saka & Bellingham, but we still look suspect at the back, Maguire let his man go for their first. Need to sharpen up for when England meet a decent team.

Just watched GB News and some Welsh fans have negotiated a special deal at their hotel (where drinking is allowed) ; a curry and 5 beers for the equivalent of £80!
