We looked drained today, if not physically, then emotionally - which is understandable.

Good call to play Freemantle, who never stopped running and who's turn and goal was really excellent.

I thought Farsley were cynical and deserved everything they got - i.e nothing. I've never see quite so much blatant timewasting in a first half, unpoliced by a weak and poor quality ref.

Well worth the trip. I thought Farsley looked quite threatening at times and caused us a bit of trouble on the long balls. The game had 2-2 written all over it 2nd half but glad we saw it out. Team looked a bit mentally exhausted but thought Keziah Martin had a great game. Joe Foulkes seems to have lost a bit of his confidence but hopefully that will come back with some game time. Just as I thought he started to come into the game, he was subbed off.

Great attendance- hopefully that's keeps up. Hats off to the 13 away supporters

Farsley had a good go, were dangerous going forward (Simpson made some good saves) and were committed I felt. Probably asked for a response by their manager.

However, they also liked chatting and griping to the ref so my sympathy for their manager's complaints is lacking. They managed to win a lot from the ref, going down easily, appealing etc. I can only assume their major complaint is questioning why Bajrami got a yellow and not a red when their fella did. Once the ref had given the foul on Hemmings (it was) then red was the only option. Would any other player have caught Hemmo? No IMO. Would be interested to see the Bajrami incident to see if they have a valid point.

Were we the better side? Yes, just. We were sometimes lacklustre without the ball, giving them too much room. But, a big three points and well done all.

Bigger win than most think. Good to see some changes made to the line up to rest some legs.
1800 attendance is excellent for a Tuesday night. Historically, even since our Football league days, attendances on Tuesdays aren't great so 1800 though the gates is excellent.

You could feel the tension in the crowd from the off. We were well below par in terms of our performance with so many passes going astray and our tempo was slow in comparison to how we can play. However, this game was all about securing the three points after the FA Cup heroics of a couple of days ago and in that regard we achieved what we set out to do.

Darlington will be a much tougher game for sure BUT we have 3 days to re-charge the depleted batteries.

I guess last night was all about the 3 points. That was a massive banana skin, given the potential hangover from Saturday.
Scrappy game, and Farsley clearly thought their best chance of getting anything from it was by being disruptive and niggly.
Also, Farsley's manager remonstrating with the ref/officials at half-time wasn't a good look!

I remember both of those games. I recall that AMS scored in the game vs Forest Green and we won 3-1 or 4-1. I very much doubt they brought anywhere near 400 so that is probably the last time we had more home fans for a regular league game on a Tuesday night.

I assume we'll comfortably beat yesterday's figure on Feb 15th albeit helped by a chunk of advance Boxing Day sales carried over.

To be honest never felt the result was in doubt, even though we had to chase the game after the early goal and Farsley did the logical thing of planting two defensive rows of four in their half and invite us on.
I though our tempo was good, we were patient and kept using the width well and only needed a few more quality crosses from the backs to create chances.
Freemantle continues to develop, his work rate is excellent and his committment 100%, just needs to develop his positioning in the six yard box and more goals will come. Good finish for his goal ironically.
Darlington will be the acid test.......

Delighted to hear Russ is working on bringing in one-or-two on that front.

Definitely need another body besides Jaiden to "challenge" Austin, OSJ and Hemmings. One that'll stick around longer than Clayton-Philips, hopefully.
