The legendary Chuck Berry has passed from us. I was only talking about him to someone, about still being around, yesterday.

Went to London to see him in concert around 1987.
The first two rows of the Hammy Odeon were cordoned off for the VIPs who attended; the only ones I recognised were Chrissy Hynde, boxer Gary stretch, and Fluff Freeman......
He never paid for his own backing band- the venue had to provide it, he also insisted on being paid in cash, and would do an hour (no more) and no encores.
Yet the guy simply ooozed star quality and charisma - it was a great gig!!
