I was wrong. Having watched the highlights, Hawkins did have to make a couple of decent saves in the second half.

Their last defender is about a yard from the touchline so he’d do well to be offside - it looks close anyway.
Also - I’m still irked by the number of decent crosses we put in when we hardly ever get to the ball first. I don’t know if it’s the system or personnel…

Funnily enough, I've just come on here to talk about that "foul" - read, engaging the keeper. I filmed the set piece for my Curzon report I'm working on. As the ball comes on, Davis makes the run towards the line and they have a coming together which I'd liken to accidentally bumping into someone head on in the street. Where I think Curzon have an issue is straight after.HarrierN2 wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:41 am Yeah, there's a good chance Davis is onside. One of their defenders is standing on the line. Not only that, he's waving his arms around for a foul that wasn't a foul, just to make sure the lino can see him.
Davis then leaves his right arm out, and almost wraps it round Hawkins - think of the "hold me back" pose. As he's doing that, he is stepping backwards, momentum being what it is, Hawkins goes down.
At that point I cut the video off because I had what I needed from a scouting point of view, and I had no idea what was going on! But I can see why they were fuming about it, we see goals ruled out for far, far less.
One should not grumble about fortune, however! Ultimately, it was the deciding factor in a tight game and a bit of luck that went our way that deserted us in games early days. Some canny dark art deployment which worked

Incidentally, full marks to Curzon for one of the most awful away kits we've seen at Aggborough, and we've seen some shockers........
