I'm nervous about this one - how often does one team win three matches against another side in the same division in one season? Worksop will be trying to prove a point (and perhaps take one or three from the game).
We've only beaten them once and that was after penalties.Grumpy old man wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 11:41 am I'm nervous about this one - how often does one team win three matches against another side in the same division in one season? Apologies - I thought that we had scraped a 1 - 0 in the league game.Jasper wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 12:29 pmWe've only beaten them once and that was after penalties.Grumpy old man wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 11:41 am I'm nervous about this one - how often does one team win three matches against another side in the same division in one season? That is the prematch interview for Curzon Phil
Coming back to Jim’s point about resting Digger, I suppose my question would be to rest him for what?
We are 10 points off top with 21 games to go. The obvious risk with resting Digger, our most influential player ATM IMHO, is that we mess up and are then 13 points behind with 20 games to go and what was already a difficult task starts to look very unlikely. (South Shields have Leamington at home tomorrow, so it is optimistic to think we’ll be fewer than 10 points off top by tomorrow evening!)
We can’t afford any slip ups at this stage, and whilst when we have 2 games in a week we may have to manage some players, before last Tuesday we hadn’t played for 10 days, and after tomorrow we have another week before we play again.
I say we pick our best team as often as we can and see where that takes us.
We are a club that has a habit of going on crazy runs (2012/13, 2022/23 and last season, just for example) - and we’ve already, quite quietly, won 8 on the trot again (counting Worksop away as a win), so let’s see how many we can win between now and the end of the season!
Spot on Tom. We have to go for it. If not now, when?TomLong78 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 9:46 pmComing back to Jim’s point about resting Digger, I suppose my question would be to rest him for what?

Honda PC50 (step-thru) for me - my lumbering tighthead prop forward to your cool Italian flying winger ... bugger!Jim mankey wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 10:59 pm I had a Fantic GT50 myself, used to leave fizzys in its wake![]()

My first game in along time today, last game was Leamington at home. Not sure what to expect but just hope I don't jinx the lads - LOL. Lot of water under the bridge and if recent results are anything to go by, I hope to see some improvement from last time!! COYR.

I said on the Morecambe thread setting up like we did there would be a mistake. We can't press a team that lump it. And our tactic is to go out wide and cross it to tiny forwards
