Got 0-0 all over it unless some serious improvement has been made in training on FINAL BALLS.
we need a no ten urgently to address creativity issues. May nick a 1-0 lets see how we do

if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success
well - prediction people seem confident !
23 say Harriers will win
0 (zero) say a draw
0 (zero) say Southport will win
we stand 5th in the league and Southport are 18th, their last 6 matches resulting in 2 wins 2 draws and 2 losses.
also - they have scored more goals than we have.

Perhaps it is the half-term effect, but I am bringing my daughter to this game too.tonythescout wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 10:36 am Got 0-0 all over it unless some serious improvement has been made in training on FINAL BALLS.

Her last match was the 5-1 home defeat by Radcliffe. She tells me she “really enjoyed it”. She was the only one if so!
I hope we do better than the Southport game you brought your son to!TomLong78 wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 11:48 amPerhaps it is the half-term effect, but I am bringing my daughter to this game too.tonythescout wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 10:36 am Got 0-0 all over it unless some serious improvement has been made in training on FINAL BALLS.

I'll be there, back for my Birthday. Got an iffy track record on it, but fingers crossed we can create some proper chances and score a few. Or win. Got to be hopeful...

I disagree, there can’t be much of a better opportunity to get things back on track. Goalscoring remains an issue, but I’d be surprised if we don’t win this one.
I wonder if he’ll stick with Walker or try something different.

Thompson to replace Walker I would suggest.Mirage Molby wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 12:35 pmI disagree, there can’t be much of a better opportunity to get things back on track. Goalscoring remains an issue, but I’d be surprised if we don’t win this one.

Cant see Walker starting given he hasnt really influenced anything of late - great option to bring on with his pace.
Think Hemmo will start, hopefully together with Waldron as a pair rather than leaving Waldron isolated.

Seems to me we DO get balls into the box, we just rarely have enough bodies in the box to capitalise on them. Watch any successful goal scoring team and when they attack with wide players they’ll have 3-4 heading into the box. We’re lucky if we have one. We need to be bolder, take risks. We should be hammering Southport not worrying about them.
Totally agree we rarely get more than one in the box marked by 3 or 4 often massive defenders .
As for through balls the type Maz and Zac slotted through on the diagonal last season to Hemmings and others.
Rare as hens teeth this season .

Totally agree. But this requires two types in your team. Fit and mobile (young?) forwards who constantly make the runs to break the line and have the nous to time them properly. Midfielders who spot the runs and can make the pass. AM seems to have built a side of workers without much inspiration in them. (I certainly don't feel particularly inspired by our football even if we win.) I said earlier in the season that AM should be coaching diagonal through balls and runs but now I'm not sure he has the players capable of delivering it.Paulwj wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 7:37 am Totally agree we rarely get more than one in the box marked by 3 or 4 often massive defenders .
