Well done boys, great result in the worst of conditions. Another home tie would be good.

Indeedy, I thought taking off the principal penalty taker for the past 3 years 5 mins before the shoot out a tad interesting. Sounded like shocking conditions,
I recall an FA Trophy tie at Mossley in monsoon conditions in 1986 where Mossley battered us for 90 minutes on a waterlogged pitch (Tuohy scored late and we won 1-0)., and we won the trophy that year. Lets hope we can do the same!

Full time football pundit and occasional football manager!
Well done to all for the result today.
Anybody able to confirm the date of the next round?

January 4th I think, Darlo home game will have to be moved to a Tuesday night. Just got back, horrible conditions, we looked like we might run away with it when we scored our second but not to be. Truth be known we played well against the wind for the last thirty minutes of the second half and I thought we deserved to win over the ninety. Penalties gave Dibbs a chance to show his worth with two great saves, I, almost, felt sorry for Haughton with his pen. The ball moved just as he went to strike it and he skied it horribly, as the late great Windsor Davis used to say "oh dear, how sad, never mind."Grumpy old man wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 9:10 pm Full time football pundit and occasional football manager!

Next round is 4th January when we would have had Darlo at home. Lets hope for a home draw COYRGrumpy old man wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 9:10 pm Full time football pundit and occasional football manager!

Main thing for me is we’ve come through injury free
The result will do some great things confidence wise as it’s a win at a team from higher up.
Interesting comment and also substitution where Hemmings was concerned as he is a “penalty taker” and Brown took him off knowing this and Hemmings according to the interview wasn’t happy about it. To be honest he shouldn’t be anywhere near them, misses too many. I applaud Brown for this decision as it’s one that’s given us an outcome. Ams always bangs them in top bin, a nightmare for any keeper. Keep him on them.
Only negative from me is we should have won it in normal time watching highlights, not sure how that 92minute one didn’t go in.
Fair play to those who made the travel up there in those conditions.

Agreed 100% on Hemmings and PB's decision to substitute him, shows he has no qualms about upsetting individuals and makes decisions based on the moment, he won't get it right every time (which he acknowledges) but more often than not PB get's it right.tonythescout wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:54 am Main thing for me is we’ve come through injury free
