Can someone give me the rundown on what Montrose brings apart from being big? Some of his passing was pretty poor.
I think his anticipation & positioning in midfield is good, and he can tackle. Plus he's a captain & big character in the dressing room. He's hasn't looked great in the last couple of highlights, but let's hope he's just rusty & not past it. He was good last season.

Saying that, with all the talk of not being able to play Maxwell & him in the same team last year, if you gave me the choice, I'd have honestly gone with Maxwell. Last half-a-dozen games he was like a magnet in there! The amount of 50-50s & second balls he won was just scary, and so bullishly strong. Plus a little extra technical quality and younger. Though that's of course futile discussion now...

I share the above concerns.

We really need Sterling and Hemmings to have a good season if we are to compete.
Montrose was clearly an excellent player a few seasons ago but I've yet to see him be massively influential.

I'd forgotten Maxwell entirely! What's up with him? Long term injury?

How odd - was there a news story? Seems a waste of talent, but perhaps he's not enjoying it anymore.

He fell out of love with full time football. Enjoyed games but hated the day to day.

Got a job at his Dad’s place, Fisher German.
