Re: 3rd round. Who do we want? We get Reading
It does make me wonder how sales have gone. If all those that went to the Halifax game bought a ticket it would, by definition, have been sold out before general release. My family have also managed to get tickets (having been unable to go to the Halifax game).
The system did work though. My daughter tried to get tickets at 2.00 and couldn’t, but then got them at 2.30

Wonder if its at capacity? I see Reading were given under 1500. I thought the away end and seating was at 2000 for away?

Can see it being 'capped' at 4500 again - but if based on Halifax likely to be closer to 5000 in the ground surely.

I imagine so as Reading are bringing 1400 where as Halifax bought 800 odd. I did see plenty of free seats in the main stand that game too so presume sold those?

Re: 3rd round. Who do we want? We get Reading
Boxing Day 1996 we had over 6000 in the ground and a half empty away end (Bromsgrove).
April 8th 2000 - 6250 home v Rushden.
May 1st 2000 - 5300 v Forest Green.
January 3rd 2004 - 6005 V Wolves.
Can someone explain to me why a stadium with a reported 6000+ capacity is capped at 5000? Do a few cameras as make that much difference? Are there some local safety restrictions? The club surely would want to sell a 1000 more tickets at 20 quid each?
What's going on?

Perhaps it's connected to Covid? That's the only logical explanation... well I can't think of anything else that's feasible.

Was shocked to see it sell out today! Glad I got my ticket, but have a few mates who delayed and missed out. Fantastic to see people haven't been put off by current events.
There are no official rules that would limit the capacity due to COVID that I'm aware of. how does reducing it by a couple of thousand make a difference? you'd need to reduce by at least 50% to make it completely covid safe by the old rules (2m rule and all that).
Let's hope it goes ahead with a crowd. I assume it would get rearranged unlike the FA Trophy if either side tested positive?

If it's not Covid related then why the reduction?
I'll admit the whole thing seems illogical but there must be a reason and the only one that is presently on the agenda is Covid. Any other suggestions?

Luke, who works for the club tweeted a few reasons earlier. Will try to embed it - with limited success - but will put the link to the tweet in as well. Doesn't totally stack up to being a 1,400 reduction for me, but better than no reasoning!

Re: 3rd round. Who do we want? We get Reading
I see from Reading's Official site they were allocated 1,470 tickets and have sold out - now operating a waiting list.
If the capacity has been capped to 5,000 this equates to Reading being allocated 29.4% of the tickets. FA Cup rules state that away clubs “have the right to claim for up to 15% of all accommodation."
It must have been KHFC's decision to grant Reading the extra tickets as they are only entitled to 750 (15%). Had our capacity been 6,000 this still only gives them 900.
One can understand the frustration of Harriers fans missing out on tickets when Reading have been given more than twice their entitlement.

Re: 3rd round. Who do we want? We get Reading
I don't know the details, but suspect Reading were probably given the number of tickets available for their allocated areas. I doubt the stand capacities split evenly to allow a precise 15% allocation.Colgofray wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 5:15 amIt must have been KHFC's decision to grant Reading the extra tickets as they are only entitled to 750 (15%). I wonder if all of this has got anything to do with the Head of Security resigning last week?

3500 home fans for a game like this is v disappointing.Colgofray wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 5:15 amI see from Reading's Official site they were allocated 1,470 tickets and have sold out - now operating a waiting list.

Re: 3rd round. Who do we want? We get Reading
600 Harriers fans denied a ticket for the game by their own club. I bet some Reading supporters have got tickets through our website too. Any reduced capacity should have been at Reading’s expense not ours. A disgrace KHFC.
