I could understand the doom-mongering if this were the 27th July, not the 27th June.
Yes, Pearce is no Cameron if only from our eye test. Leak sounds like a promising prospect, ditto Brown. TOE should well be a perfect replacement for Austin and a profile of player we’ve cried out for - experienced at this level and approaching his peak.
Taking out OSJ’s highlight reel, I think Ceesay could be a step up, as long as he makes that step up from PT to FT:
OSJ 21/22: 43(7) 9 goals
Ceesay (PT): 25(5) 7 goals (after signing on 11/9, missing 11 games through two injuries)
Id imagine our style of play would be more conducive for Ceesay than at Alfreton, younger, possibly cheaper and with resale value as well

When you consider the same time last year we had no Cameron or Bajrami but they appeared in friendlies and look what happened. It would be interesting to be in certain people's company when things are not going well, depressing wouldn't cover it.
I've no idea what our new intake will be like as a team. Having only seen 2/3 it would be unwise to assess them into RP's plans at such an early stage. Reading certain comments you'd think we were just about to embark on our first match of the season.
I will leave my assessment until at least a dozen games into the season.

Agree 100%, we're in pretty good shape compared to previous seasons. Of course disappointing to lose players of Sam's ability, but we've moved fast to bring in replacements and hopefully have funds for more.
I'm sure we will have plenty of trialists when the friendly program gets going too.

This.
Sterling faded badly, others didn`t perform so well as the season wore on. Hopefully with the success of last season & assumed better finances, we can have at least 13-14 genuine first choice players rather than 11-12.

Does anyone know when players are back in pre-season? This week? Are the media team on holiday? Obviously they are entitled to a break but have I missed the fanfare/pictures of pre-season starting?
Fylde back in training this week, as are Telford.
Peterborough Sports played what is a very early friendly at the weekend. As did Chorley.
Have we only announced four friendlies as per the HOL page? https://harriers-online.co.uk/khfc/2022-23/friendlies-2022/

Back on the 1st I believe. Don't forget we finished our season later than some teams.
Just the four friendlies so far. Can't believe there's no Swifts yet. Like to see us play Bewdley too.

I still think we'll bring in another keeper.

Signed Shane Byrne from Boston. One year deal.
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

Wowsers - what a signing that is!! He's been one of the best players in this league ever since we came down into it. Ran the show for Biston when they beat us in the playoffs. Mega excited by this.
We now have so much flexibility in midfield. Byrne, Martin and perhaps Lowe competing for two holding spots, Lowe could also compete with TOE for the number 10 role and we have Ceesay and Hemmings out wide.
It's defence and arguably a striker where work needs doing, but that's a real statement of intent.
