Renewed relationship between KHIST and KHFC

IMO Richard Lane's refusal to acknowledge KHIST is bizarre. A football club lives or dies by the support from the local(some not so local) population - it's customers if you like, it's a business after all. What sensible business man would want to alienate his customers? I think RL believes that the support (attendance numbers) indicate his ambivalence towards KHIST has little effect on the money coming in, giving him confidence he doesn't need the distraction/involvement directly with the supporters, as represented by a fan's club. No doubt his judgment is coloured by the former owner, who may still be adding his 'considered opinion' if asked, is it a question of trust? I think RL see's KHIST as an irrelevance not worth the effort of opening a channel of communication (correspondence) and believes things are okay as they are, he's in charge and he's obviously happy to do it his way. This is a great shame in my opinion and could come back to haunt him in more difficult times if for any reason the club were to get into financial difficulties. Perhaps RL hopes that by ignoring the fans direct and only representative body that it will lose interest and fade away - if that is the case he is very much out of touch with the supporters. I wonder how many other clubs have such an aloof owner who makes absolutely no attempt to liaise/communicate with their clubs supporters chosen representatives? As I said - bizarre.

This thread is literally about a confidential letter that’s not on the KHIST website for exactly that reason.Bucks Harrier wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 9:49 am No, he isnt Jeff Bazos. Your taking an apple and comparing it to an orange. It all seems perfectly clear and simple to me. It's not unique or even unusual. A letter of any kind would be published on the KHIST website and here and on it would go as you can imagine.

Interesting item from the Slough Town Trust website over Christmas. They talk to the Trust leaders first and then to the Slough Town CEO.

So how important is the Trust for the football club? I asked CEO Ashley Smith
Financial stability and support
Supporters’ trusts can bring significant benefits to clubs, particularly at the non-league level helping to supplement the club’s budget and allow funding towards new projects.
Advocacy and Representation
Voice for Fans: The trust ensures that fans’ interests are represented in club decision-making.
Volunteer Support
Access to Volunteers: Supporters involved in the trust are more likely to volunteer their time and expertise, reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.
Enhanced Club Culture
The supporters’ trust fosters a culture of inclusivity and pride, aligning the club’s values with those of its supporters.
Preserving Heritage
Trust involvement ensures that the club’s history and traditions are respected and preserved.
For Slough Town FC, which has a rich fanbase, the backing of a supporters’ trust can help cement its position as a central hub for local football and ensure its growth and sustainability for future generations.

Hope Mr Lane reads that. Not sure he'd be interested though.
