Same old, lessons aren't being learnt. Out numbered in the middle of the park, take off Hemmo and all hope of scoring disappears. Subs defied belief. AMS looked out of it Saturday, should have been rested tonight. Obadeyi adds nothing, best let him go.
Can we not occasionally try something different like a 3 in the middle, Maz and Devine too often are battling for the same space. Watson won the tactical battle by a country mile tonight. Frustrating to say the least.

Sheff sums up my thoughts well. Energy levels and lack of ideas particularly disappointing. Type of game when we missed Summerfield. AMS a worry.Sheffield Harrier wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:56 pm Oh dear.
As pleasing as Saturday was, tonight reminds you not to get too carried away.
What a disappointing performance. Fair play to Darlo, they closed us down effectively and defended really well. We wanted far too long on the ball than they gave us. Their game plan worked. Balls into wide positions were gobbled up by their full-backs time and time again. When we got decent crosses into the box I never felt like we’d get on the end of it.
We ran out of ideas. Our energy was low. And sadly I felt we lacked some character after they scored.
Darlo travelled down to Leamington and back on Saturday and have had another long journey tonight. They looked sharper and hungrier.
Amari was so off the pace. But there was nothing off the bench emphasising that the squad surely needs freshening up.
And less than 2000 home fans bothered to turn up. Really poor given we are top.

How disappointing, we're dropping far too many points at home in my opinion to win the league.
Darlington are no mugs by any stretch of the imagination but we were very poor in possession tonight, giving the ball away time & time again. Is that a joke the 2 votes for Downing MotM? I'm happy with him as cover but he's got a mistake in him every single time I see him play, he gave the ball away 3 times in a row first half.
That being said I imagine watching the highlights back there will be a handful of opportunities that didn't quite fall for us and on another day would have.
We're crying out for more quality off the bench.
We've been linked or rumoured to sign a number of players the last couple of weeks and not one so far has got over the line. Why?
All we see are clubs around us announcing new players for fun - what are we doing wrong, money ?
Im trying not to get to disheartened as we've done incredibly well to get where we are which makes it even more frustrating we aren't strengthening.
If you'd have said at the start of the season that come nearing the end of January we'd be top with a game in hand, i'd have bitten your damn hand off.
6 points next 2 games... all is forgiven

I wasn't there tonight but there is a pattern. Alfreton, Guisely, Rushall, tonight. We haven't learned. We've seen it all before.
Similar to players signing for other clubs but not us. Instead we're left with idiots making up transfer rumours.
We might not have expected to be in a title battle. But we are. We would be crazy not to go for it.
Let's hope Brown has changed his mind about not needing a striker.

I don't believe any of the transfer rumours are made up, the club are clearly trying to bring in 1 or 2.harry211 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:15 pm I wasn't there tonight but there is a pattern. Alfreton, Guisely, Rushall, tonight. We haven't learned. We've seen it all before.

Brown in his post match of Warrington said they're talking to a National League defender (Has to be Morrison) and a striker
Its just frustrating why we don't seem to get any over the line
Just over a year ago a pal sent me a pic of a Phil Brown in Hartlebury services with rumours of taking charge at KHFC. We all laughed at those rumours once we thought it was a joke..
Well just how ‘Kiddy’ was that? Top of the league and the opportunity to consolidate our position and put the chasing pack under pressure. And we turn in a performance like that!
Lots of poor individual performances tonight but I feel the main problem was tactical. After the first fifteen minutes it was obvious that hitting long high balls for Morgs was never going to work. Meat and drink to their big defenders. Surely at half time the instructions had to be to get the ball down and play and run at those big defenders. Nope, same fruitless, futile long punts forward.
I didn’t understand any of the substitutions. Foulkes, Reynolds and Devine were our most dangerous players on the night and he takes two of them off. And plays Thomson as a wing back? None of the substitutions had an impact. Sorry but I’ve seen nothing in Obadeyi to convince me he should be in the squad. I can’t see what he brings to the team.
I see two people voted for Downing as MOTM. Seriously? I thought he had an absolute stinker. He’s looked sound in recent games, composed and calm on the ball but tonight he looked jittery, off the pace and his distribution was woeful. More like the Downing of earlier in the season.
I’m more convinced than ever that if we want to challenge for promotion we must strengthen the squad. Specifically we need a proven striker and an experienced central defender. Reid and Morrison would fit the bill perfectly. Have a look at our fixtures for February and ask yourselves just how many points we’ll pick up with a tiring Morgs and Hemmo and an unreliable defender in Downing.
Time to act.

Listened in on H and W, chris williams is definitely glass half empty kind of guy
Patten occuring with these games at home. Rushall alfreton guiseley marine now last night
We need a striker end of.
Bench awful, tope and Thompson never going to make an impact.
Time to sign forward's was the summer, brown fell in the same trap as penn which is dissapointing given his experience and seeing first hand how poor we were in the final third last season
Reid started for oldham last night but was subbed at half time

When *this* Harriers team turns up you can pretty much write the 1-0 script. We can’t afford too many more of these.

Poor ball from Downing presented to their midfielder and he had the quickness of mind to see his mate was keeping himself onside and away they go. Did we play any balls between centre halves on the ground? They didn’t give us time to do so and were happy to let us keep going wide.

O.K.. - I'll put my hand up. I voted for Downing as MoM.
He had a mare for the first 20 minutes but, in the second half, when Darlington started to run through us with ease, imo he was the one member of our defence who stood up to the task. Without his reading of the game, we could easily have lost 3 - 0.
That said, his distribution is not great and, having just watched the "highlight" of the goal we conceded, I may have been over-generous to him.
You could also conclude that my vote for Downing was a vote of no confidence in the performance of the other members of the team!

When we played long balls we lost possession. Whether it was from Dibble or long straight or cross field balls. So why did we continue to do it all game? Foulkes lost every header against his marker, but Dibble continued to target him. Why?
