I was planning a trip to Derbyshire but Alfreton's pitch failed an inspection on Tuesday and the forecast for Saturday up there is not encouraging (sleet).

Anybody on here know what the problem is with the pitch - e.g. frozen or waterlogged?

South Shields?

Does Phil Brown say whether he’s talking to any players of quality?

He acknowledges that ams is being run ragged and blowing as a result and is on about dropping him for rest against a side ams is perfect to play against, a physical side. What are the alternatives? Hemmo though the middle who I doubt will make any impact there against two burley shit houses or tope or lutz? It’s complete crackers we haven’t another no 9 to bring in and it’s a case of square peg in a round hole.
Getting lambert off the wage bill may help us get someone in, shame it hasn’t worked out had high hopes for him this season.

Interesting after being so key for us for December and January - Ryley Reynolds is now referred to in the same breath as the Villa winger and Derby defender. Not sure he's the same as them...

Reynolds and Devine, unless injured, should automatically be on the starting XI team sheet for every game, along with Dibble, McNally, Richards, Kouhyar and Hemmo. And Foulkes when fit again.

I thought this also, Reynolds has certainly proved his (significant) value to the team, where the others have a way to go on that front.

In the end, I put it down to standard PB interview waffle than an actual assessment of squad or players ability.

Unfortunately we live in an era of (quote) "squad rotation", "compressing the play" and "second phase ball" where football coaches try and make an essentially simple game about the application of some sort of 'black art' that no supporter could ever hope to understand.
Recent harriers coaches, including Phil Brown, being no exception.
Play the strongest XI, try and score one end and keep the ball away from the other, and lets hope we luck into some decent form for rest of the season. Simple.

Essentially I'd use a 'back to factory settings' approach and play the same side that gave Hereford a pasting - but put Thompson in for Foulkes.

Look forward to four players rotating from Tuesday instead, Morgs playing 90 minutes and Hemmo coming off after 55 instead.

I'll be there - looking forward to it. Honest!

I felt he was evasive about Thompson and started in the same vein about Lambert - before coming clean!

Can't help feeling his outward bonhomie and affability conceals.......................
