If Gash did call the referee a cheat then he should be red carded IMO - in sports like rugby or cricket you just don't confront the officials in that way and get away with it.

In this league I am frustrated by the part-timers often matching us. Let's be honest sometimes it is some of the worst of the full time professionals in football up against some of the best part-timers.

This time, I wonder if Devine was included by his team mates.

I am still optimistic that we can get automatic promotion.

Anyone know how long Beresford is still out for?

He could be the biggest difference now going forward towards a promotion push

Got a check-up at Birmingham on Monday I THINK Brown said. If he passes then back into full training. So hopefully no more than a couple of weeks away.

Listened in on the second half and just seen the highlights.
Sounded in complete control second half without really creating anything of note after the goal. Against ten men I guess there was no need to and it was getting the three points which matters.
Three clean sheets and 7 points, no disrespect to the last 3 opponents but on paper the fixtures looked sort of kind to us. Only four goals scored though which again is a concern. Ams scored again and his goals to start ratio is in all fairness decent. Young Beresford coming back will help as he has a poachers instinct about him. I really like the look of Devine, decent footballer who is involved in some good moves down the left. A decent find in all fairness. Maz and hemmo have been well off the boil since August infront of goal (maz should have scored yesterday) but are involved in our better moves in the final third, we need others to contribute in the final third. Brown mentions confidence in the final third, the front three are experienced enough so hopefully they will come good
This league is again ridiculously tight, and I think we are 2/3 players away. Perhaps lane should gamble and allow brown to bring those in now as top spot is there for the taking. Recall us doing the same when clarkson and marsh come in 1999 and the rest was history.

Having been critical of Devine after Tuesday's game, very pleased to read that he had a good game at Peterborough.

We appear to be set up away from home to make use of his ability but we need to find way of using him effectively at Aggborough. Neither Lambert nor Cadogan had great games on Tuesday so it felt like we didn't start with our strongest 11 but PB presumably went with a game plan - albeit apparently he intended to play against a different Marine side(!!). We need our "flair " players to deliver at home and, for whatever reason, that is not happening. To my mind, the jury is still out as to whether Devine is part of the solution to that issue.

The next two games may give us a clue as to whether we have really turned a corner - Buxton will have something to prove after their FA Cup exit at Aggborough and Curzon are top of the division for a reason. I'll take anything more than 2 points from those games as a positive.

I would agree with all this. To push on we need a similar moment to when Penn signed Morrison, Leesley and Dibble. No time for young kids but a bit of proven quality at this level....alas it won't come cheap.

We also need a right sided full back in by next Saturday.

Hopefully above 25 years old.

Talking of Morison he hasn’t been starting for Solihull and fits the profile of the type of player we need. Experienced, vocal, leader type with a lot of quality. We need a centre half in anyway given downing and Penny still out.
If we can get a decent midfielder in I think that’s what is needed for now.

I was wondering about Morrison too. Agree that the Summerfield replacement has to be the priority.
