We had that with Cadogan to a certain extent who played in the ten in a 433, but he went completely off the boil after August. Only thing that went against him during that period was him missing a few good chances but he was involved in a lot of good stuff we did that month where we looked like genuine title contenders.harry211 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 10:59 amThis is a similar point I made in another thread though after the Peterborough or Needham game. It's why Devine has been so good. How often has he got to the byline and cut inside before pulling the ball back? It just stretches those lines that we so often face from opposition. We do need someoen doing that through the middle to really unsettle the opponents.marcus garvey wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:38 am Oh for a midfielder who can break beyond the attack and give the opposition problems ala Austin.
It's all getting a bit military strategy this. Form column!
Brown changing the system to stop us loosing, make us difficult to beat and adapting to personnel available/unavailable. To be honest, its a completely different look now to what we had in August but there was a fear we were too Eustace esque and we would find the usual short comings of that sort of side, which of course we did. Physcially strong, fit and organised is the way forward, with some serious disrupters. The pureists wont like it but thats half the battle.
