Not sure about that at all. If it's financial constraints, Phil should come out and say the playing budget has been used up. It would directly contradict what Lane has told fans in public, as far as I understand it. So that might be why he isn't.

It does sound like the penny's dropped given his comments about a prolific striker in his post-Oxford interview.

Not sure about the switch from PT to FT being a factor in January. Look at the lad from Redditch going to Buxton...

I spoke to an old mate at the weekend who is involved with the financial side of the operation, he said we were in for a couple and there is money (he didn't specify how much). He was under no illusion as to our need to bolster the ranks.

It would be great to bring in a top striker for this level, but we are now so desperate (in my opinion) someone that PB considers to be at the same level as AMS would do. Prem teams in Europe repeatedly show tiredness & poor results following a mid week game, rotation needed.

Brackley have signed Miracle Okafor permanently now.
Another rival adding to their squad at this important time.

Meanwhile at Aggborough …..

Brackley signed Miracle Okafor on a permanent. Another one we've missed

I have a feeling Okafor is a touch slow for this level and above.

He'll only get quicker. We have an aging forward line. Not sure he'd definitely be right for us - but let's not pretend he'd be any slower than them!

He looked very ponderous to me. Slower than all three we have now.

Hopefully tonight's results really focus minds at the club. Winning this league will be an almighty battle and we won't be doing it without reinforcements.

And the focusing of minds needs to extend to the players too. Hopefully that hunger is there.

Charlie Lutz, Rory Wilson and Kobei Moore are all listed as CF's and 20 years old according to the Villa offy site.

I'd be happy with one of those. Have to be really.
