Well if that’s the level of aspiration the club has, no disrespect to the lad but is he a better option than Kobe hall. I’m baffled that the club have lost or not thought a player fits in, I’m sorry buts that’s desperation! Hope the lad proves me wrong
Why write the lad off before you've seen him? It hasn't even been announced yet and he's being wrote off - give him a chance- Is that really what we do now ?
Kobe Hall ? I'm sorry, I don't mean to criticise players but the times ive seen him play he's been way off the level and a lot slower than I'd have imagined - I'd love to be proven wrong and I want him to do well but I just don't see it.
He was subbed on for Alfreton Saturday then subbed off - unsure if this was a knock or performance related.
I too would rather a proven signing or a signing instead of a youth loan, the club are clearly trying. It does however feel like a long running joke that we've been in need of another striker for a couple of years & the ones we've signed have been flops eg Gold & Phillips - Where is Phillips these days anyway?
Beresford would have been the answer but the poor lad appears to be crocked this season

One hundred percent agree
Philips doesn’t even get into the 11 at Gloster, last few line ups I’ve seen he warms the bench
Wonder if we are being priced out of moves and club is keen to avoid another repeat of the Gold fiasco signing. Still, there was a chance to bring a striker in in the summer and brown fell into the same trap as the previous incumbent. It’s crazy to think that some were lambasted on here for criticising keeping certain forward players as it was clear they would be starters and brown moaned at for even selling Gold (who was terrible) when it was clear even to Stevie wonder the last two seasons we haven’t been good enough or consistent enough up there, aswell as taking into the account ages of some.

Perhaps there are 2 strikers a youngster from Villa and ( hopefully) someone from a higher level who we can’t get until after Mondays transfer deadline?

If the best we can do is a rookie from Villa who has never played proper football before, then there's questions to be answered.
It's one thing to want to avoid a Gold situation, it's another to scrape the barrel and bring in a kid while everyone around us is signing players with somewhat of a track record.

Indeed, the situation is worrying. With young Joe out for a period of time following the deliberate assault he suffered, we need bodies. Not just bodies, but some quality.
We’ve had a problem in the final 1/3 for 3 years. Even my cat knows this! Yet, the can has been been kicked down the road again and again.
Whilst the young man from Villa might be a great prospect, we need better right now.
We here in the kingdom of Bewdley fully expect AMS and Hemmo to still be here next season…we’re not joking!

Nice to see everyone giving the new arrival the benefit of the doubt before he’s even kicked a ball in anger…. Jeez….

I won’t be surprised if we bring another CF in.
Tope is out of contract and he and Thompson haven’t done enough to effect a game when given an opportunity, brown has taken hemmings off a couple of times when he was been poor and no impact was made. This kid can also play out wide

He *might* be brilliant, hard working and become a cult hero. Everyone will give him support and encouragement.
But I don’t think it’s out of order to express concerns that we’re pinning hopes on a 20 year old who hasn’t, to my knowledge, had a loan like this before. And has suffered injuries (including an ACL) in his short career. Beresford had experience at Banbury and Gloucester (where he scored 13 goals). This lad *might* do that for us but we can’t all help spotting that he’s inexperienced at this level of football.
We all hope it works out.

Exactly my sentiments. Who knows what he will produce.
Good luck to the lad!

Welcome Charlie Lutz hope you like it here an do well for us and silence the moaning minnies.

Ox going will free up some funds so imagine there is more signings to come
The signing of ox basically summaries Penns poor recruitment over the last two summers of his reign. I wish him well though as it wasn’t a lack of trying.
Could do with lambert and penny being moved on that’s good money wasted each week

And he *might* turn out to be not brilliant, nor hardworking…like that 29 year old striker that we signed last season who had many years of experience at this level of football (and coincidentally made his debut in an fa trophy game).
I would like to think everyone hopes it works out fine, but we should judge his suitability to play at this level on his match performances rather than pre-conceived ideas of the kind of player we think we *should* be signing.
(Ps: I’m well aware of the possibility of being beaten round the head by this post come 4.45pm ish tomorrow!)
