Took off the two players that looked like creating something up front ( in Hemmo and Ryley), although it was lean pickings all game even with them on.
We’re so impotent.
Probably should have scored from Waldron’s good run and cross.

Can't disagree with that ! Murray is looking lost at inspiring the players, and as you say it's all too predictable.Mirage Molby wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 5:42 pmHa, it’s the hope that kills you. Goalscoring remains an issue, but I’d be surprised if we don’t win this one.
I wonder if he’ll stick with Walker or try something different.
How surprised are you now ? Harriers are/were dreadful, play offs are looking a doubt now on current form.

Well that was a poor response from Murray. All the sniffing doesn't help but it was just waffle at the end of the day.
Our about turn (and Murrays) before Christmas, and all the hope that came with it, has now been missing since then and now we're back to how we were from August to October.

Not sure what our game plan was other than get it wide mainly to Walker and cross it to nobody.
Southport had done their homework and stuck 3 on Walker at times .
I was expecting Waldron and Hemmo or Waldron and Thompson today we had one lone striker again .
No through balls no nothing really.
Disappointed as there was plenty of of hard work throughout the team but again no end product.
Let’s hope for better Tuesday

Agree with Paulwj - I didn't see any "game plan" nor the opportunities that AM saw.
We had a couple of very good crosses along the ground into the six yard box that might have been converted on a luckier day - otherwise zilch.
Nothing from Hemmo and less than usual from George Walker and virtually nothing from Reece.
Madness from Digger to be so petulant when he was already on a yellow.
As usual the referee was very poor doing little to assist any flow to the game and give paying spectators something to enjoy the "spectacle".

Somene said we are “vanilla” and he’s bang on. Boring middle of the road no flavour
Didn’t understand taking hemmo or devine off two players who can create something yet continue to persist with someone like walker who couldnt deliver a letter never mind a decent cross. As for him spurning that massive chance after great work by waldron - hemmo scores that
Frustrating afternoon summed up by stupidity from davis.
Tactics and going with this one up front is killing us. Centre player isolated with {expletive deleted} all creativity in the muddle and nothing outside aside from devine
Reynolds is massively off the boil. Pk too a bad knock second half and didnt look comfortable after hope he’s ok
Waldron did ok despite feeding off scraps and created out best chance.
Tactics need adjusting to get best out of players and we need somethint in the middle and if that mrans cooper or Reynolds make way for it then so be it

if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success
Well that was another hard watch. Negative, scared football, ponderous build up play allowing the opposition to regroup, no pressing, no urgency, no identity. Murray has to be one of the most uninspiring managers we’ve had.
Only twice this season have I enjoyed and been excited watching us: Fylde and Telford at home. Both sides came to play football which suits us and we were everything we weren’t today: positive; quick; pressing. Against sides that sit deep Murray hasn’t a clue. Starting against a team just outside the relegation zone without a recognised striker on the pitch? At home?
There’s just no joy, coming to Aggborough feels like a chore. I’m bored.

One more thing. To all the Zak Brown knockers: we miss him probably more than any of those that left in the summer. The link up play between midfield and the odd forward player we might have on the pitch is non-existent. No creativity whatsoever in midfield. Endeavour but no creativity, no individual quality.
As others have mentioned, I don’t think it matters who we have up front, our style of play is just not going to create chances for them.Phil wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 6:59 pm Lee Angol? Available.

Another thought: their no 11 (Mackenzie?) was the best player on the pitch. Had Evans on toast for their goal and was a threat all afternoon. I’d have him.

Strikers aren't going to solve anything when we give them absolutely nothing to work with. Our final ball is atrocious with our only plan to go out wide. We have nobody in the middle who can split a defence

Agree on the brown point and the strikers point
We could have Haaland or Kane and they won’t get a chance as we don’t create anything
Thought mckenzie was good as was slew on the left for them

Southport were all over us second half to be fair to them, our midfield was too easily overrun.
When we’ve got the ball we spread out to the wings play it out and go back to the defence or make an awful cross, we haven’t got a single player that can pick the ball up and drive through the middle.
Forwards are useless and I feel like we’re just shoehorning hemmo into the starting XI because we’ve got him, hasn’t done a single thing whilst he’s been here and would expect him to return to daggers. All gone wrong for him since leaving in the summer.
Davis also has to keep his head, for someone of his career and experience to lose it when he’s knowingly on a yellow is embarrassing- sums up the game.
Onto marine where I expect another draw
