Agree with much of the above. I would only add that, not for the first time this season, I felt our manager was slow to get the subs on. Chester scored during a period when they had introduced some fresh energy and we were looking a little sluggish.

And I have to agree, another extraordinary refereeing performance which may have actually influenced the outcome of the game.

We had to go longer in the first half and until we scored as Chester setup for the draw. 11 men in their half.

Donnelly seemed to struggle in the first half but was much better in the second, maybe Chester tired but he found more space.

Is Davis close to a suspension for yellows? For their goal he's usually dragging that man down but he seemed to hesitate.

With the ref all I want is consistency, if you're giving fouls for every slight touch or push fine, but give them both ways. So many times Chester players went down and a free kick was given, we get the same push in the back and the ref tells us to get up.

In terms of head injuries I can't blame the ref for those stoppages as it is the rules for player safety. But to counter it I think a safety protocol has to occur. We should take them seriously and they have to leave the pitch for 5 minutes and pass concussion tests. Players safety coming first and cutting out the "head" injuries to stop play.

The worst yesterday being near the end when I think Devine went to play a long ball as we got a break, the ball hit their player in the body and he held his head immediately stopping us. Again can't blame the ref for that one as frustrating as it is

It was only this morning that I realised that Chester had 4 ex-Harriers in their starting 11 on Saturday.

As well as Weeks and Leak, Burgess was here on loan from York and Roberts from Crewe - although I am uncertain whether the latter actually made any appearances for us.

Roberts came on breifly at Rushall away last year.
Didnt go and listened to bits on the radio so grateful for an updates shared thus far.
Williams on the radio said performance in generally was a bit leggy, and mentioned the faffing of making a sub around the goal, and the 'head injuries'
To be honest, we have employed dark arts in the past, should have held onto the lead in all honesty!
I'd have taken a point before the game. I know we have 5 aways on the bounce, with some long old trecks on a Tuesday night but these are THE current form side in the division and a side I fully expect to be in the playoffs come end of the season. 3rd place is still very much in our hands.

Reference the sub point, watching from the East stand (and therefore out of earshot of anything that might have been said) I think that the Chester management called Shrimpton over to give him instructions - presumably to play in a different position - at the same time as they made a substitution. Hence possible confusion.

Bottom line is that a few minutes later Shrimpton scored - perhaps suggesting that we did not react to Chester's shuffling of the pack.

Certainly looks like it. Hope all those dreadfully injured Chester players have recovered in time for their next game or at least their next appearance in the Chester Amateur Dramatic Society's production of Hamlet. You know, the one with bodies everywhere at the end.

I very much doubt that there is 'censoring'. I have been a defender of refs in the past. I was not there on Saturday but the three home games prior I have seen the referee has been poor. Something needs to be done to help remedy the matter.
Could Dibble have done better with their goal? Why didnt Davis take a yellow for it.

I'd agree that there seems to be a policy of not showing contentious incidents, if possible.

On 1:40 I think it was a superb block from Obi, rather than a Dibble save.

Not sure Dibble was positioned well enough for their goal. Not for the first time, but I wouldn't swap him.

I think "head injury" footage should be analysed after the game and a clear and obviously feigned head injury should result in a one match ban. That'd sort things out pretty quickly.
