Shame he hasn’t kicked on or rediscovered his form since leaving here, heard he’s had further injury issues? Brilliant player when he was here. Would he be worth a short term
Deal if Kandola was out for most/rest of the campaign? Yes? Will It happen? Probably not

if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success

He was still playing for Worksop on Saturday so I'm guessing he'll join permanentlytonythescout wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 12:33 pm Shame he hasn’t kicked on or rediscovered his form since leaving here, heard he’s had further injury issues? Dean Sturridge played a handful of games for us in 2006/07. I can remember thinking he was still sharp. He was a gambling addict, the article is about his recovery and involvement in an organisation to help problem gamblers.

I was reading an article in the Times online about ex-pro players being fast-tracked into refereeing - Player to Match Official. Among those doing the course is one Iyseden Christie. They get £40k a year from the scheme for 3 years, I believe. In case there is a paywall on the Times article, I have also linked to another report I found of the scheme.

Seems a reasonable enough idea, but Iyseden is 48 years old!

Went to watch Barrow v Salford last night. Ben Whitfield and Sam Foley both started for Barrow.
Holker Street still feels somewhat like a non-league ground - seating only on one side and nothing behind one of the goals. The game was scrappy - nobody was given any time on the ball. As a result, there were loads of misplaced passes and two rather peculiar goals.
I thanked the Barrow fans for lending us Worrall - they fell about laughing when I told them that our manager was PB. I had forgotten that he had a brief spell there.

They may be laughing now, but they are a club massively punching above their weight. They were always a lower half Conference side - and if ever they came back down that's probably where they would end up. Geography and facilities very much available at them.Grumpy old man wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 6:10 pm Went to watch Barrow v Salford last night. Ben Whitfield and Sam Foley both started for Barrow.

Didn't PB do an ok firefighting job for them?!
That all said, they're welcome to stay at least a division away from us for the time being. We gave a decidedly poor historical record against them and their fellow Cumbrians Carlisle, who do appear to be heading back to the National League next season.
