scunthorpe (home ko 3:00pm)
Well after such a long wait!! since the end of last season it all starts again tomorrow afternoon.
Our first victim this season is the 'Iron', Scunthorpe Utd, and it looks like they will be bringing down a very weakened squad.
Out will be Steve Torpey, Lee Hodges, Alex Calvo-Garcia, Nigel Pepper and Peter Morrison.
Torpey will be starting his five match ban after being sent off towards the end of last season against Exeter.
Hodges and Calvo-Garcia both picked up injuries during close season and will be out for the next four weeks.
Morrison and Pepper are recovering from broken legs from last season.
Peppers was from that infamous clash with Paul Webb when we lost 2-0 at Glanford Park last August.
Pepper also received a red card for the incident.
Harriers will be playing an almost full first team, the only exceptions being Drewe Broughton and Danny Williams.
Broughton is serving a one match ban after being dismissed against Hartlepool but is injured anyway with a hamstring strain and may not play the first couple of games anyway.
Williams is serving a four match ban for a sending off at Wrexham when they played Bristol Rovers towards the end of last season.
The only other doubt will be Andy Ducros who bruised his ankle against Halesowen last Monday but he should be fit.
Jan thinks that our first game will be a tough one;
"It's a difficult one to kick off with.
They nearly made the play-offs last season. They are a strong squad and have made a couple of good signings in Peter Beagrie and Carl Bradshaw.
Both are experienced players who will do a good job for them, so it's going to be a tricky game for us.
I feel they are going to be one of the better teams in the Third Division this season."
