  • Shrewsbury Town (home ko 7:45pm)

It's local derby time again with the visit of Shrewsbury Town to Aggborough tonight.

Those of us who journeyed over to Gay Meadow in September will be hoping that this game won't be a repeat of that one.
In that game we gave up right from the kick off, and along with some strange tactics from Jan, we ended up as 4-0 losers.

Jan was good enough to stand up and take the flack then and admitted that he had got it wrong, he hasn't played Stampsie as a centre half since.

Shrewsbury are starting to pick up the points again in their playoff campaign after having gone through a rough patch since the New Year.

This month they have shared the points with both Scunthorpe and Darlington in high scoring games, and then taken maximum points from Orient and surprisingly Mansfield in their last two games.

Their 3-0 hammering of the Stags on Saturday was one of the results of the season, although having seen the highlights on TV Mansfield looked very poor.

The last time we played the Shrews we had also played Plymouth in the previous game and so it turns out again this time, lets hope the co-incidences stop there.

We came back from Plymouth without any injury problems and with the added bonus of Abdou Sall coming back from injury.

Although we came back without problems we picked one up in training yesterday.
Word is that Dean Bennett may not be available after getting a kick on his ankle, this has swollen badly and will take a lot of physio to get him fit.

If thats the case then it looks like being a premature return for Danny Williams now he's had his stitches out.

This is someone who has been badly missed, but will it be wise to play him without damaging the healing process.

Don't expect a return for Bomber Bo or Andy Ducros just yet and definitely not Blakie and Richie.

On the subject of Mark Blake and possible loan cover for him. Was yesterday's announcement that David Burrows was training with the club an indication that Jan may be looking at Burrows as an answer.

Although he is known more as a full back he may be the older head we are looking for and could be the ideal man for the job.

At the moment he's only training with us and will not be signing but that could easily be arranged.

Shrewsbury have Nigel Jemson out injured along with Jamie Tolley and have bought in Tony Lormor on loan and signed former Forest man Ian Woan.

They expect to have their first choice keeper, Mick Heathcote, back between the sticks in place of Andy Tretton.

Bad boy Sam Aiston has just made his way back into the side but is still on the transfer list and the other bad boy, Luke Rodgers, is out serving a suspension.

Sadly not as a guest of the Queen.
